Finally a new colorway for our popular Blacksmith Collection. The 3340 Blacksmith comes in our classic premium Briar Oil Slick Leather that we know & cherish from iconic styles such as the 8138 Moc Toe or the 3141 Work Chukka. The rich dark brown tone with it’s traces of red and a visible texture are unique features that create an extremely classic & versatile look with endless outfit combination possibilities. It’s the first time that Red Wing is using this leather type on a Vibram Minilug Sole and the choice of Bronze Hardware & brown waxed cotton laces complete the look in a very harmoic manner. The new 3340 can be interpreted as a logical counterpart to it’s sibling, the 3343 Blacksmith in Copper Rough and Tough. The 3340 offers a more homogenous appearance, whilst the 3343 already carries a slight “vintage” look with many color contrasts right out of the box.
The Blacksmith can be considered the classic American work shoe. In the early 1900s, when Red Wing Shoe Company first began to serve rural America, this style was vastly popular throughout the country. It’s a versatile shoe that can go easily from a day of hard work in the field or blacksmithing workshop to a night on the town. All it takes is a little polish. It’s long been an all-purpose shoe in many industries.
